Improvmania is Back! See Three Improv Groups Face Off in the Ultimate Comedy Battle!

Stranger Than Fiction Improv Will be Joined by Two New England-Area Improv Groups for a Super Fun Showdown

Portsmouth, NH – On March 29, three hilarious improv comedy groups will battle it out for the ultimate prize: a cheap WWE-style title belt (and bragging rights, of course!)

The Seacoast’s premier improv comedy troupe Stranger Than Fiction has invited Portland, ME-based improv group Yes&Co and the University of New Hampshire’s Improv Anonymous to compete for the winning title belt through a series of improv games at the New Hampshire Theater Project. 

There will be comedy. There will be a prize. But what makes this improv showdown truly special is YOU. The audience decides the winners by clapping, hooting, hollering, cheering – whatever moves you. 

Audience participation made the inaugural Improvmania an incredible success in 2024, and Stranger Than Fiction hopes to put even more “mania” in Improvmania this year!

“Some of the best competitions are fake, and Improvmania is certainly among them. It’s simply a fun, silly way to pit super-talented improvisers against each other in pursuit of a glitzy belt we bought at Walmart,” said Michael McCarron, Stranger Than Fiction Co-Producer and creator of Improvmania. “It’s so rewarding seeing how exciting it is for the audience to decide who wins, and we love ramping up the energy as much as possible.”

The bell to start the match sounds at 7pm on Saturday, March 29 at the New Hampshire Theater Project. Tickets are on sale now through Stranger Than Fiction’s website at stfimprov.com.
